Mr. Gordon Lee Holder, 94, of Cartersville, formerly of Canton, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at his residence.
Born February 18, 1919 in Chattanooga, TN, he was a son of the late Harris Harold Holder, and the late Martha Ray Holder. Mr. Holder was a member of First Baptist Church of Canton and was a World War II veteran, serving in General George S. Patton's 3rd Army during the liberation of Europe.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Yvonne Holder; son, Robert Holder and his wife Brenda of Rydal; daughter, Mary Rogers and her husband Garry of Cartersville; grandchildren, Sharon Holder and Donna Reeve, Nancy Davidson and her husband Matt, Chris Cash and his wife Tressa; and great-grandsons, Lee, Jesse, and Blake Cash.
Funeral Services with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the graveside in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with The Reverend Keith Guyton officiating.
