Grace Sisson

Mrs. Grace Thomas Sisson age 95, of Rome, GA died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at her residence.



Mrs. Sisson was born in Gordon County, GA on April 10, 1914, the daughter of the late Pleasant Lee Thomas and Annie Dora Fulton Thomas. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. Mrs. Sisson was dearly loved and will be missed by her family. In addition to her parents Mrs. Sisson was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee Sisson; two daughters, Helen and Ellen Thomas; a son, James Lee Thomas; six brothers, Gordon Thomas, Andrew Thomas, Clyde Thomas, Jr. Thomas, and Dave Thomas, and Jim Thomas.



Survivors include a son, James Dewey Thomas of Rome and four grandchildren, Regina Vescovi, Lynn Thomas, Judy Phillips, and David Wayne Thomas all of Rome. Several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.



A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Clonts officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends Monday, January 25, 2010 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Oaknoll Chapel by 1.30 P.M. on Tuesday: John Vescovi, Wendell Barns, Bobby Spriggs, Jimmy Carter, Gary Cooper, and Joseph Fountain.
