Mrs. Gracie Lillian Teague, 94, of Cartersville, died Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Corbin, Kentucky on October 17, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Elijah Green and Ada Georgia Short Clay.
Mrs. Teague was a member of Peeples Valley Baptist Church and was employed by E-Z Mills for many years as a sewing machine operator. She enjoyed cooking for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Teague and a daughter, Norma Jean Kay.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Sherri Grant of Canton; her grandson, James A Kay of Cartersville; her great-grandson, Andrew Grant of Canton; great-granddaughter, Alexis M. Kay of Cartersville; her brothers, James Clay (Emogene) of Winterhaven, Florida and Junior Clay of Louisville, Kentucky; and her sister-in-law, Nan Brideau of Cartersville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Bill Cline and The Reverend Scott Crowder officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m on Thursday.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Kay, Eddie Cochran, Adam Davidson, Chad Cox, Andy Findley and Greg Hight.
