Grady Bennett

October 14, 1921 — July 3, 2009

Mr. Grady L. Bennett, age 87, of Rockmart, GA formerly of Rome died Friday, July 3, 2009.



Mr. Bennett was born in Gordon County, GA, on October 14, 1921 the son of the late Arch Bennett and Pearl Branch Bennett. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Bennett worked for Trend Mills for twelve years and several years for Redmond Regional Medical Center. In addition to his parents Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his wife, Eddie Mae Bennett and a brother, Odell Bennett.



Survivors include a brother, Albert Lee Bennett of Argon, GA; a nephew and a niece, Douglas and Debra Bennett of Cartersville, GA; and a sister-in-law, Jean Bennett of Calhoun, GA. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.



A celebration of life will be held Monday, July 6, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Edwards and Rev. Jerald Eaves officiating. Interment will follow in the Morning View Cemetery with the Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 of the American Legion conducting military graveside rites.



The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Heritage Chapel on Monday by 1:30 P.M.: Jerry Wayne Bennett, Randy Bennett, Ricky Bennett, Rockey Bennett, Titus McGuire, and Douglas Bennett.
