Grady Clarence Hames, Jr., 77, of Taylorsville passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
Born on April 9, 1947, he was the son of the late Grady Clarence Hames, Sr. and the late Pauline Waits Hames. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Chapman Hames, and his sister, Bernese Atkins.
Survivors include his son, Greg Hames (Donna); son, Shane Hames (Brandi); grandchildren, Brittany Tyler, Ryan Hames (Bridgett), Mckenzie Hames, and Emma Hames; and 3 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Cornerstone Independent Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Avery and Reverend Earl Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Cornerstone Independent Baptist Church Cemetery with Bryan Cox officiating the graveside. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Hames, Scott Atkins, Dakota Bennett, Avery Bennett, Drew Cox, and David Hicks. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Cary Hayes, Al Currier, and Henry Holmes.
