Gregory Smith

Gregory Scott Smith, 58, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023.

Greg was born on October 11, 1964, he is the son of Crayton Smith and Judy Pope. He is preceded in death by his father Crayton Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Sherry Smith; his children Stephanie Herbert (Gerwyn), Bradley Smith, and Abigail Roberts (Christian); stepsons Matthew Davis (Melissa), and Cody Davis (Sarah); mother Judy Pope, grandchildren, Aiden Copeland, Kira Herbert, Logan Smith, and Emily Richie; siblings Joseph Smith (Rachelle), Todd Smith (Nikki), Jane Smith Nations (Gary), Michael Smith, Allen Smith, Angie Carnes, and Renee Adams; and many nieces and nephews.

Greg loved people. He was always smiling, friendly, and willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed his work with the Cobb County Sheriff's office, and all the people he met throughout his years there. Most of all Greg cherished his family. His wife, children, and grandchildren were his whole world and the hole that he left in their hearts will never be filled.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Church at Liberty Square. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Church at Liberty Square with Pastor Dewey Davidson officiating.
