Haralson Liles

September 24, 1928 — January 9, 2012

Mr. Haralson Haines Liles, 83, of Cartersville, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Abanda, Alabama, September 24, 1928, and was the son of the late Luther Liles and the late Eunice Melton Liles. Preceding him in death along with his parents are his brothers, George and Jim Liles.



Mr. Liles was of the Methodist Faith and was retired from Ewing Brothers, Inc. He was a member of the VFW Post 6686 in Eatonton, Georgia and was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Liles enjoyed gardening, his specialty being his tomatoes, fishing and spending time with his special friends, Ralph, Richard, and Harold and watching UGA football where he attended college. He was known affectionately as �Liles� by his friends and �pepaw� by his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.



Survivors include his wife of fifty one years, Adell Sheppard Liles; his daughters and sons-in-law, Maria and Allyn Morton, Josie and Doug Hickom and Carol Jolly; his grandchildren, Shari Hickom, Cindi and Douglas Gravely, Georganna Morton, Rebecca Hickom, Jessica Jolly, Kayla Morton and Jarrod Jolly; his great-grandchildren, Landon Gravely and Kendall Gravely; his sister-in-law, Edwina Liles; and his nephews, Mike and Jimy Liles.



A service of celebration will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Reverend Mike Morgan and Reverend Doctor Harvey Palmer.



The family will receive friends Saturday for two hours prior to the service at Trinity United Methodist Church located at 814 West Avenue, Cartersville, Ga.



In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Alzheimer�s Association, 922 East Morris Street, Dalton, Georgia, 30721 or Amedisys Hospice, 1217 JFH Parkway, Cartersville, Georgia, 30120.



Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremations Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Haralson Haines Liles.
