Helen Dienst

Mrs. Helen S. Dienst, 97, of Cartersville, died Wednesday, May 01, 2013 at Kathy Care Hospice, Born in Manassas, VA on November 11, 1915, she was the adoptive daughter of the late Maxwell Covington. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Dienst and her grandson, Jeffrey Apgar.
Mrs. Dienst was a member of Sam Jones Memorial UMC and of the Ladies Book Club. She was an administrator with the U.S. Government and also worked with Emerson J. Cleaners in Westfield, New Jersey and Richard Farms in Winchester, Virginia. Mrs. Dienst enjoyed crocheting in her spare time.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy K. Apgar of Cartersville; her son, Fred Krug of Holden Beach, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; and her special friend, Song "Peach" McBride.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2013 in the chapel of the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services the Reverend Nina Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday for one hour prior to the service.
