Mrs. Helen Christine Brannon Swanson age 80, of Rome, GA, died Saturday, November 20, 2010.
Mrs. Swanson was born in Cherokee County, AL, on December 2, 1929, the daughter of the late Vester �Tiny� Brannon and Thelma King Brannon. She retired from Pete Bakery after thirty-one years of service. Mrs. Swanson was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church where she was a member of the Golden Girls Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Swanson was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Frank Ford, Jr. in 1973 and her second husband, Marvin D. Stanford in 1986.
Survivors include her husband, Edward C. Swanson, Sr. of Rome; four daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and David Graham of Rome, Sherry Mulinix of Rome, Jan Atchley of Atlanta, and Debbie and Eddie Anderson of Rome; two step sons; a step-daughter; three granddaughters; a grandson; a great-grandson; and a sister, Alline Moore of Athens, AL. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside and interment services will be held Monday, November 22, 2010, at 3:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Dr. Jerry Dudley officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 P.M. until 2:40 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel.
