Helen Vandyke

Helen Vandyke, 74, of White died Sunday, October 18, 2009 at her residence. Born October 11, 1935 in Bartow County, she was the daughter of the late Jud LeeRoy Atkinson and the late Reatha Simpson Atkinson. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Vandyke; her brothers and sister-in-law, J. D. and Lillie Bell Atkinson and James Atkinson; and her sister, Missie Dover.



Helen retired from Nantucket after twenty years of employment. She attended Corinth Baptist Church and enjoyed reading and sewing.



Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Helen Geraldine and James M. Jenkins of White, Shelia Jeanette Burlile of Cartersville, and Shirley Darlene Hale of Cartersville; her sisters and brother-in-law, Jeanette Fox of White, and Mamie and Raymond West of Kingston; her sister-in-law, Mae Atkinson; her grandchildren, Daniel Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, Jo Cromer, and Josh Cromer, all of Cartersville, Lacy and Bo Burlile of Virginia, Linda Gentry of Wisconsin, Dewayne Gentry of Cartersville, and Melissa Rogers of Cartersville.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Rev. LeeRoy Atkinson and Rev. Greg Barnette officiating. Burial will follow at Rowland Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.



Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Jenkins, Jo Cromer, Josh Cromer, David Dover, Harold Dover, and Dewayne Hale. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Monday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
