Mrs. Helen Louise Vaughn, age 66, of 120 Amelia Lane SW, Rome, GA, died Wednesday, September 6, 2006, in a local hospital.Mrs. Vaughn was born in Chattooga County, GA, on April 7, 1940, the daughter of the late Clyde and Sara Crook Bailey. She retired from Mohawk and was a member of Radio Springs Baptist Church. She loved her family and going to church. Mrs. Vaughn enjoyed wearing her jewelry and going to yard sales. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vaughn is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Ruby Thompson.Mrs. Vaughn is survived by her husband, William Vaughn to whom she was married on March 8, 1958; three sons and daughters-in-law, William "Buster" and Alice Vaughn, David and Linda Vaughn, and Mark and Carol Vaughn, all of Rome, GA; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and a sister, Bessie Hall of Rome. Several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2006, at 2:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Howell and Rev. Don Peace officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.Mrs. Vaughn will remain in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends this (Friday) evening from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as active pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home on Saturday by 1:30 P.M.: Marty Neal, Frank LaPann, Ronnie Walraven, Kevin Utley, Robert Graham, and James Osborn.
