Henry Floyd

Mr. Henry Carlton Floyd, 74, of Euharlee, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born March 11, 1940 in Royston, Georgia, he was a son of Louise Carlton Floyd, and the late Grady Floyd. Mr. Floyd was a member of Euharlee Baptist Church where he attended the Adult Men's Sunday School Class, and served as a Trustee and the maintenance and grounds director. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia and was the owner and operator of Ladds Farm Supply. Mr. Floyd was a member of the Euharlee Farmer's Club and the Kiwanis Club, and served for many years on the Board of Directors of the Cartersville Bartow County Airport Authority. Henry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who loved his community and the people in it.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Teena Garrison Floyd; daughter, Dawn Floyd Roberts and her husband Todd of Euharlee; sons, David Henry Floyd and his wife Ellen of Cartersville, Stacey Jones and his wife Cathy of Euharlee, and Ladd Grady Floyd and his wife Elise of Cartersville; his mother, Louise Carlton Floyd Hatch of Cartersville; brother, Tim Floyd and his wife Geneva of Hartwell, GA; grandchildren, Alec Floyd, Caitlin Jones, Emily Roberts, Grayson Roberts, Jared Roberts, Cassie Jones, Ariel Floyd, and Addison Floyd; 2 nieces; and special friends, Walter Mahone, Mike & Sherry Lynch, Colleen Cochran, and Johnny Smith.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Euharlee Baptist Church with The Reverend Bradley Baker and Mr. Judd Mobbs officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Floyd will lie in state at the church, 2 hours prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 5 until 8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Joe Tilley, Mike Lynch, Johnny Smith, Walter Mahone, Richard Harris, and Wiley Sullins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Maxwell and members of the Euharlee Farmer's Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Euharlee Baptist Church, 1103 Euharlee Road, Euharlee, GA 30145, in memory of Henry.
