Henry Darrell Mez 3/07/1954
Henry Darrell Mez passed away on November 2, 2023, at his home in Euharlee, Georgia, at the age of 69. Born in Falls City, Nebraska, to Paul Mez and Vesta Mez (now Cochran), he spent his early years on their family ranch, attending school in a one-room schoolhouse. When he was 10 years old, they sold their ranch and relocated to Blair, NE. After high school, Henry attended Ambassador College in Big Sandy, Texas, where he received his Bachelor's degree in Theology, worked in shipping and receiving, ran track, and minored in journalism and photography. While at Ambassador, he made friendships and memories that he cherished throughout his life.
After college, he moved to Oklahoma for work and met his wife Rhonda. They were married 36 years. In 1990, they moved to Georgia to start their Aire-Master franchise, which they ran and operated with their brother-in-law, Richard Henderson, and years later, their son, Eric Mez. Henry was very active in his church, hosted many events, striving to bring people together. He was loved by many for being a fun-loving and giving person who cared deeply for his family and his friends. He loved God, the Sabbath and serving God's people.
Henry enjoyed basketball, arrowhead hunting, softball, playing music, sitting by the beach, running races and making jokes most of all. He was a family man and a servant of God.
Henry is preceded in death by his father, Paul Mez. Henry is survived by his wife, Rhonda Mez; his mother, Vesta Cochran; his siblings, Elizabeth Henderson (Richard), Melinda Cole(Bob), and Paul(Skeets) Mez(Brenda); his sons, Keith VanAntwerp and Eric Mez; his daughters, Rachel Shallenberger and Rebekah Jones; and his nine grandchildren, Lily, Max, Madeleine, Penny, Charlie, Rayden, Violet, Sadie, and Rylee, whom he loved very much.
