Herman Walters

Mr. Herman Wayne Walters, age 65, of Tallapoosa Georgia, died Friday April 2nd at his residence.Mr. Walters was born in Rome, Georgia. He is the son of the late Mr. Grover Cleveland Walters and Mrs. Susan Gladys Brock-Walters. Mr. Walters was an Associate Professor of Foreign Languages at the Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. He enjoyed collecting antiques, growing flowers and African Violets, reading, recording movies and spending time with his animals. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mildred Morrison and Faye Walters, both of Rome.Survivors include one nephew Danny Joe Morrison and his wife Sandy Morrison of Rome, one niece Nea Walters Martin and her husband Tony Martin of Rome and three grand nephews, Daniel Matthew Morrison, Jonathan Brent Morrison and Joey Ryan Martin all of Rome.Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 6th, 2004 at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, 2549 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia at 2:00p.m., with Dr. Charles Drummond officiating.Family will receive friends from 7:00p.m. until 9:00p.m at Jennings Oaknoll Chapel, 2542 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia.Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:30p.m. Tuesday and will include Randy Payne, Terry Simmons, Paul Reynolds and Mitch Cordle.The family can be reached at the residence of Danny Morrison, 811 Mays Bridge Road, Rome, Georgia, (706) 232-6153.Please join the family in honoring the memory of Mr. Walters by visiting www.jenningsfuneralhome.com and posting your tributes and memories.The Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home, 2542 Shorter Ave., Rome, GA has charge of the arrangements for Mr. Herman Wayne Walters.
