Homer Charlie Cowart, 78, of Cartersville, Georgia, sadly passed away at home on January 30, 2022.
Born on January 30, 1944, he was the son of the late Homer C. Cowart Sr. and Agnes Cowart. He is also preceded in death by his wife Linda Cowart.
Survivors include his children; Russell Cowart (Tracie Hadsall), and Brian Cowart (Sandy); his siblings; Howard Cowart, Jay Cowart, Diane Puckett, Mary jane Payne, and Deanna Lyons, his grandchildren; Tara Carter (Joseph), Kayla Hutchings (Joe), Alycia Johnson (Nick), Michael Cowart (Chelsea), and Adam Cowart (Sarah), his 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Homer served his country for twenty-four years in the United States Navy. Upon retiring he became a self-employed truck driver. Homer was very involved with the Masons and was an active part of many of the local lodges and being a member of the Euharlee Masonic Lodge. Homer on many occasions would transport burn victims to the Shriners Hospital Burn Unit in Ohio.
A funeral service will be held Friday, February 25, 2022, at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend DaRon Henson officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 at Georgia National Cemetery with honors rendered. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday February 24, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Mercer, Mitch Tripp, Wayne Wix, Jeremy Womack, Dallas Duvall, and Ben Harris.
