Horace Lee, Jr.

August 19, 1947 — February 6, 2009

Mr. Horace James Lee Jr. age 61, died peacefully at his home on Friday, February 6, 2009,

He was a 1965 graduate of East Rome High School. Mr. Lee served in the Army Air Force achieving the rank of Sergeant along with commendations and volunteered for a Viet Nam tour. He received and Honorable discharge in 1969. Mr. Lee received his B.A. from West Georgia College. He was an employee with Georgia Power Company for many years. Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his father Horace James Lee Sr. on August 14, 2002.



Mr. Lee is survived by; his mother, Edythe Lee Scherer of Rome; one sister and brother-in-law Candy Lee Davis and her husband John of Sautee GA; one daughter and son-in-law Amy Kinkle and her husband Chad of Nashville TN; three sons Jonathan Lee, Jeremy Lee, both of Alpharetta, GA. and Jason Lee and his wife Rachael of Brunswick, GA.; two grandchildren Kendall and Jordan; also Uncle Morris Lee and his wife Novella and numerous cousins and friend also survive.



Funeral services will be held today, February 8, 2009, at 3:00 P.M. in the McGuire, Jennings, and Miller Oaknoll Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Wood, officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with full military honors preformed by The American Legion Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 Honor Guard.



The family will receive friends today, from: 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour in the Oaknoll Chapel.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Oaknoll Chapel today by 2:45 P.M. they include Bobby Perry, Vic Kirby, Jason Lee, Jon Lee, Jeremy Lee and Van Baxter



The Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Horace James Lee Jr.
