Horace Clifford Raines, 61, of Cartersville died January 21, 2010 at the Cartersville Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Born March 29, 1948 in Cartersville, he was the son of the late Julian Clifford Raines and the late Virginia McMillan Raines.
Horace was the owner of his own towing service. He loved antique cars and spending time with his granddaughter. Horace was also a member of the Olive Vine Church.
Survivors include his wife of forty-three years, Margaret Whitener Raines of Cartersville; his son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Deanne Raines of Cartersville; his sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Doyle Harmond of Fairmount; his brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Sandy Raines of Cartersville; and his grandchildren, Brett and Emily Bryant and Alexis Raines.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Dr. Joe Edwards officiating. Entombment will follow in Providence Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brett Bryant, Dub Adams, Dan Smith, Derrick Howren, Charles Hudson, and Corey Sutton. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Donald Craig. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home by 2:15 p.m. on Sunday.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. on Saturday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
