Howard Davenport

Rev. Howard Mac Davenport, 67, of Cartersville passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born July 1, 1945 in Pine Log, he was the son of the late Aldon C. Davenport and the late Bessie Gravitt Davenport.



Rev. Davenport retired from Diaki Fabricating Company and was also employed by Thrall Car Inc. for thirteen years until the time of his retirement. He was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church in Cartersville and was the lead singer for the Singing Davenports. Rev. Davenport loved to fish and camp.



Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Barbara Wood Davenport; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Davenport Cline and her husband, Jeff; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary Davenport and his wife, Stacey; his sisters, Jerri Edwards of McDonough; Barbara Crumbley and Audrey Pickle both of Cartersville; his brother, Richard Davenport of Kingston; and his grandchildren, Emily Davenport, Keri Cline and Rhyne Davenport all of Cartersville.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Summey, Rev. Donald Edwards and Rev. Morris Bearden officiating. Burial will follow in Dewey Baptist Church Cemetery.



Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Green, David Sanford, Shawn Sanford, Zack Kilgore, Ricky Ledford, Kyle Pickle and Shane Pickle. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Steve Sanford, Gene Morrow, Robert LaCroy, Randy Hyde and Phillip Morris. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 8 p.m. on Monday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, 430 Cassville Rd. Cartersville, GA 30120.
