Mr. Howard Lee "Tyke" Orton, 74, of Cartersville, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at his residence.
Born April 27, 1940 in Cartersville, he was a son of the late Charles Quillian Orton and the late Carrie Lea Dover Orton. Mr. Orton attended Cass Schools, and then later moved to Peoria, Illinois to pursue a career with Caterpillar Tractor Company. He retired from Caterpillar after 30 years of service and then returned home to Cartersville, where he spent his retirement years.
Survivors include his children, Karen, Richie, and Scot; grandchildren; brother, John Frank Orton and his wife Faye of Dadeville, AL; and several cousins, nieces, and 1 nephew.
Inurnment will take place at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Tyke.
