Howard Tipton

Mr. Howard Eugene Tipton, 82, of Cartersville, died Monday, October 1, 2012 at Redmond Regional Hospital. Born in Tennessee on August 14, 1930, he was the son of the late William Lester Tipton and the late Hadey Belle Sand Tipton.
Mr. Tipton was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Battle of the Chosin Resevoir during the Korean War. He enjoyed playing bluegrass and gospel music.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Keith Tipton; his son, Tony Tipton of Cartersville; his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Mike Whitehead of Maryville, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Dylan and Caleb Whitehead and Kelton Keith.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 4, 2012 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Tim Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
