Mr. Hoyt D. "Slick" Tatum, 81, of Cartersville, died Monday, August 5, 2013 at his residence.
Born November 16, 1931 in Cartersville, he was a son of the late Hoyt "Hob" Tatum and the late Lillian Tumlin Tatum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Pierce Tatum.
Survivors include his daughter, Susan Ingram and her husband Jerry of Cartersville; sons, Charles Tatum and his wife Lynn of White, and Bob Tatum of Cartersville; sisters, Frances Smith, and Dot Oscher and her husband Jon, all of Cartersville; brothers, Carter "Duck" Tatum and his wife Grace, and Joe Tatum and his wife Quinn, all of Cartersville; grandchildren, Michael Ingram, Gregory Ingram, Brent Tatum, and Christy Stephens; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Marvin Taylor.
Funeral Services will be held at the graveside on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery with The Reverend Brent Tatum officiating. The family will receive friends at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, one hour prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Satterfield, Steve Taylor, Darell Cagle, Richard Cole, Mitchell Scoggins and Mike Bramlett.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Mr. Tatum.
