Rev. Hubert Ortel Cabe, 77, of Emerson passed away peacefully at his residence Thursday, February 24, 2011. A native of Bartow County, he was born May 30, 1933 and was the son of the late Jack Cabe and the late Minnie Chapman Cabe. He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Debra Johnson; his brothers, James and Odell Cabe; and his sisters Josie Crisp and Ann Powell.
Rev. Cabe sang and wrote gospel music, making several tapes. He was the former pastor of Corinth Baptist Church. He was a member of Center Baptist Church and a Master Mason with the Stilesboro Lodge.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, JoAnn Greeson Cabe of Emerson; his son, Chris Cabe of Euharlee; his daughters, Pam Lowery of Emerson and Crystal Campbell of Emerson; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Idella Cabe Lee of Cartersville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 27, 2011 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Harold Weatherford, Rev. Dewey Atchley and Rev. Charles Greenway officiating. Rev. Joey Phillips will be in charge of graveside services held at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Acworth.
The family will receive friends from 5 � 8 p.m. Saturday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, Ga. 30120.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Sunday and will include: Kevin Johnson, Tyler Cabe, Danny Greeson, Michael Snyder, Ricky Johnson and Terry Lowery. Crawford Greeson and Larry Greeson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
