Mrs. Ida Mae Brock, 79, of Cartersville died peacefully, Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Cartersville Medical Center. She was born in Ashburn, Georgia, May 27, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Vester Lafett White and the late Mary Rowe White. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Emmett Virgil Brock; her son, Robert Donald Brock; and two sisters, Abby Jane Ethridge and Vesta Lee Bass.
Mrs. Brock lived in Atlanta for a short time before moving to Cartersville where she spent most of her life. She enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales, loved to write poetry and work on word search books.
She is survived by her children, Eddie V. Brock, Randy and Carol Brock, Larry and Denise Brock and Steven and Melissa Brock all of Cartersville; long time family friend, Dennis Archer; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Pastor Eric Helms presiding. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Tony Brock, Andy Brock, Stevie Brock, Dennis Archer, Al O�Shields, J.R. Brock, David Cox and Mark Brock and are asked to meet at the funeral home at 3:15 p.m., Wednesday.
