Ida Chapman Free, 89, of Cartersville passed away Friday, April 10, 2009 at Sunbridge of Cartersville. Born July 5, 1919 in Taylorsville, she was the daughter of the late Claude Chapman and the late Fannie Mae Lawson Chapman. Mrs. Free and her late husband, Woodroe, owned and operated City Cabs.
Survivors include her son, Shane Free of Cartersville; her sister, Bertha Hindman of Cartersville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Ronnie Cowart officiating. Burial will follow in the Floyd Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends the hour before the funeral service.
