Irby Head

Irby Levern Head, 64, of Cartersville died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Flat Rock, Alabama on March 31, 1945, he was the son of the late Irby Marion Head and the late Nellie Irene Pope. He was also preceded in death by his brother and his grandson, Justin May.



Vern had been employed as a crane operator until his medical retirement. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.



Survivors include his wife, Delane Culver Head of Cartersville; his children and their spouses, Daniel and Penny Head of Kingston, Diane and Bobby Robinson of Cartersville, Darlene Head of Cartersville, and David and Stacy Head of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Brandy Ray, Andrew Head, Melissa Ellis, Blake Head, Haley Robinson, Robby Robinson, Cody Head, and Zack Head; his sisters, Barbara Jean Davis and Jimmie Sue Parker, both of Rainsville, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.



A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, GA 30120.
