Mr. Jack Helton, affectionately referred to by his loved ones as �Pop� and �Daddy Jack�, age 72 of Rome, GA, passed away Thursday evening, November 20, 2008.
Mr. Helton was born in Trion, GA on January 24, 1936. Mr. Helton retired from General Electric with over twenty-five years of dedicated service and was long time member of the Ruritan National Club. Mr. Helton loved visiting with family and friends and traveling with Ladell Helton, his wife of forty-nine years, prior to her passing less than a year ago. Mr. Helton was an avid NASCAR and Atlanta Braves fan and loved watching old Westerns on television. He was the son of the late George and Mattie Mae Helton. In addition to his parents, Mr. Helton was preceded in death a brother, George Helton and sisters, Dorothy Teems and Pat Camp.
Mr. Helton is survived by his sister, Jewell Orr of Griffin, GA and four children, Yancy Helton, Augusta, GA; Sharon Helton Frailey, Atlanta, GA; Tim Helton, Cleveland, TN; and Teresa Helton Sembrat, Woodstock, GA, all of whom will continue to celebrate his life through families of their own. Mr. Helton is also survived by eight grandchildren, Eric Sembrat, Kristen Sembrat, Jackson Frailey, Tyler Frailey; Alixia Helton, Olivia Helton, Victoria Helton and Billy Helton.
Visitation with family, neighbors, and friends will be held at the Helton residence.
