Jackson Beatty, Sr.

Jackson �Clyde� Beatty, Sr., 64, of Cartersville passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born April 20, 1946 in Spring Church, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Harold Beatty and the late Elizabeth Carnahan Beatty. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Nancy Doborsky, Bessie Bier, and Harriet Shirley.



Clyde served his country for 20 years in the United States Navy and completed his career at Gerdau Ameristeel. He was a member of Saint Francis Catholic Church. Clyde was a story teller and was full of personality.



Survivors include his wife of forty years, Linda Beatty; his sons, J. W. Beatty, Jr. and wife, Ellie, and Matt Beatty and wife, April Yake; his daughter, Julia Beatty Litzenberg and her husband, Brian; his grandchildren, Nicole Beatty, Race Beatty, Justin Beatty, Fantasia Holmes, Riley Beatty, Justin Litzenberg, Jacob Litzenberg, and Tristin Beatty; his sisters, Eileen Runco and Jean Pugliese; and his in-laws, Harry and Julia Mathewson.



A memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Father Dan Stack and Miles Chesley officiating.



In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to support the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. through the Vietnam Memorial Fund online at www.vvmf.org.
