Mrs. Jacquelyn Roberts Wagner age, 81, of Rome, GA, died Friday, April 23, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Wagner was born in Durham, NC on March 23, 1929, the daughter of the late Willie Marshall Roberts and Florabell Emory Roberts. She served in the State Department of Education for over thirty-two years and served as head of the English Department at Coosa High School. Mrs. Wagner was a member of Garden Lakes Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Sherlin and Joyce Paschal.
Survivors include her devoted husband of sixty years, Carl Wagner of Rome, GA; two daughters, Denise Sweeney of Denville, NJ and Carol Loftus of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Christy Bacon, Jennifer Syno, Rebekah Loftus, and Rachel Loftus; and three great-grandchildren, Connor, Bryson, and Braedon. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, April 26, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. in the Garden Lakes Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Kremer and Dr. Floyd Roebuck officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour in the Garden Lakes Baptist Church.
