James Barnette

James "Foye" Barnette, 72, of Cartersville passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born in Cartersville on December 17, 1940 he was the son of the late Alfred Barnette and the late Doris Ingram Barnette. He was also preceded in death by his step-brother, Jerry Ballard. Mr. Barnette was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Cartersville. He loved to fish, paint and go for rides in the country. He had an excellent sense of humor, and could yarn off some awesome and entertaining stories. Foye's true passion was going to thrift stores.

Surviors include his wife, Sara Barnette of Cartersville; his daughter, Cheryl Clark (Don) of Suches, Georgia; his sons, Nathan Barnette (Gigi) of Cartersville and Stan Barnette of Cartersville; his step-daughter, Jennifer Lowe (Lamar) of Rydal; his step-son, Brian Hearn of Calhoun; his grandchildren, Apryl Peloquin (James) of Rydal, Tara Miller of Cartersville, Kyle Barnette of Cartersville and Cody Barnette of Cartersville; his step-grandchildren, Kyndal Lowe of Rydal, Rianne Lowe of Rydal and David Lowe of Rydal; his great-grandchildren, Rozlyn, Isabella and Georgia; his sister, Dot Brandenburg (Kenneth) of Mableton; his step-sisters, Grace Hatfield and Janie Will Lockridge; his step-brothers, David Ballard of Cartersville and Everett Ballard of Rome; and his special friends, Pastor and Mrs. John and Arlene Weems, Larry Ginn, Reynolds Bruce, Tommy Posey and Charles Groce.

A family reception will be held at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Antioch Baptist Church followed by a memorial service at 7:00.
