James "Bimbo" Barnette

October 31, 1957 — December 27, 2023

James "Bimbo" Barnette, of Cartersville passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. He was born on October 31, 1957, to the late Wilson Barnette and the late Betty Amos Barnette. James is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna Barnette and son, Raymond Sorrell.

Survivors include his son, Kevin (Courtney) Barnette and their children, Jackson, Caitlin, Kesslyn, Kendall, Cooper, Peyton, and Alex; son, Mark (Melissa) Redding and their children, Makala and Matthew; and great grandchildren, Mason and Alexander.

James loved playing with his grandchildren and listening to Country Gold Saturday Night music.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023, in the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend J.R. Smith and Pastor Marlon Haney officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. Bimbo's family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday December 29, 2023, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Barnette, Mark Redding, Jay Gill, Toby Jones, Matt Abernathy, and Jeff Dupree. Honorary Pallbearer will be Sammy Amos.
