Mr. James William Black, 70, of Cartersville, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at his residence.
Born December 23, 1942 in Cartersville, he was a son of the late James A. Black and the late Estelle Starnes Black. Mr. Black loved the Lord and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He proudly served our Country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Navy. Mr. Black loved fishing, and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves, the Falcons, and NASCAR. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Black and Sue McEntire.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Roxie Black; sons, James F. Black and his wife Donna of Dallas, and Randy S. Black of Cartersville; daughters, Michiell Tucker and her husband Brad of Archdale, NC, and Nancy Padgett and her husband Michael of Cumming; sister, Joan James of Cartersville; grandchildren, Destiny Dupree, Dakota Tucker, Katelyn Tucker, Destiny Black, Rosie Black, Ana Black, Maria Black, and Alexander Padgett; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Benny Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
