James Carr

James Wayne Carr, 62, of Cartersville died on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at his residence.

Born on June 12, 1956 he was the son of the late Pete Carr and the late Mary Lyons Carr. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Pope; and his brother, Allan Carr.

James was of the Baptist faith and a member of Central Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the family lake home. James loved his family and his dogs, Amos, Piper, Carson, and Jackson; but his passion was his business, James Carr Sandblasting. He cherished the friendships that he made through the years and held them dear to his heart.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Carr of Cartersville; daughters, Jennifer Carr of Acworth, and Tashia Smith of Cartersville; special son, Cody Bailey (Lanae) of Adairsville; grandsons, Chase Ashworth, Dillon Carr, and Sam Smith; and special dear friend, Larry Todd Adcock.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Reverend Donnie Summey officiating. A private interment will follow. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the funeral home.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Larry "Big O" Owens, Jo Turner, Billy Mathis, Mickey Anderson, Jason Hall, JCSB Employees, Terry Arnold, Gary Calhoun, Dave McCorkle, and Rick Irons.
