James Carroll

Mr. James (Jimmy) Calvin Carroll, 68, of Cartersville, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Redmond Regional Hospital. He was born December 28, 1948 in Bartow County to the late Floyd J. Carroll and Bonnie Langford Carroll.
Jimmy graduated from Cass High School, where he was a four letter athlete. Following high school he served two years in the Navy. He attended Gordon Military College, where he also played football for the bulldogs. He was an even bigger fan of the bulldogs down the road in Athens.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Wade Carroll; his children, Ben Carroll and Laura Carroll; his siblings, Evelyn Cantrell and husband, Gene, and Dale Pelfrey and husband, Lamar; his little dog, Walker; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with The Reverend Becki Jones officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Emory Transplant Center.
