James Grady Cornett

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Grady Cornett, who left us on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026, at the age of 63. Born in Miami, Florida, James was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

James is survived by his loving children: Katie McGlamry (Wesley), Chris Scoggins (Brittany), Jamie Cornett, and Kristen Jenkins. He was a proud grandfather to several cherished grandchildren. His siblings, Linda Sue McLemore, William Cornett (Lisa), Diane Gayton (Jeff), and Tony Cornett, special cousins Troy and Sandy Cornett, along with numerous nieces and nephews, also survive him. James was preceded in death by his parents, William Cornett and Helen Lemming Cornett, his devoted wife, Judy Carruth Cornett, as well as his sisters, Shirley Beasley, Glenda Bass, and Cherry Warren.

James's life will be celebrated at a funeral service held at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 12th 2026 at 11:00 am, officiated by Reverend James Black. Prior to the service, friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

James's family would like to express their gratitude for the outpouring of support and love during this difficult time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, ensuring James's final wishes are carried through with dignity and respect.

The memory of James Grady Cornett will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
