Mr. James "Harry" Crabtree, 79, of Cartersville, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Maple Ridge Nursing Home. He was born in Rock Creek, Tennessee on December 14, 1936 and was the son of the late Luther Crabtree and Jewel Stepp Crabtree.
Mr. Crabtree was retired from Kennesaw State University and enjoyed working as a greeter at Walmart and watching the Atlanta Braves play from his recliner in his living room. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ella Dee Simcox Crabtree; a sister, Donna Irene Crabtree; a brother, David Allen Crabtree; and grandson, Cody Crabtree.
Survivors include his daughter, Connie Crabtree of Cartersville; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff & Lisa Crabtree of Cartersville; his grandson, Lucas and Starla Chambers of Cartersville; his great grandsons, Conner & Noah; his sisters, Wanda and Kelly Conatser, Geraldine Wright, and Jan Watson all of Jamestown, Tennessee and Lula Mae Flick of Redkey, Indiana; his brothers, Bill Crabtree and wife Sarah of Hartford City, Indiana and Bruce Crabtree and wife, Jo of Springport, Indiana.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
