James Culberson, Sr.

Mr. James Olin Culberson, Sr.Age 76 of Hattiesburg, Mississippi formerly of Shannon Georgia died Thursday July10, 2008 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Culberson was born April 5, 1932 in Floyd County to the late John Thompson and Willie Mae Colston Culberson. He graduated from Model high School in 1949. Mr. Culberson received his Bachelors degree in business Administration from the Bob Jones University in 1953.He then served in the United States Army for two years at Fort Monroe, VA. In 1957 he received his master's degree in missions from the Columbia Bible College in Columbia South Carolina. In 1960 he obtained a masters of education from the University of South Carolina. In 1970 he graduated from the University of Georgia with his Doctorate in education psychology. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his son James O. (Jimmy) Culberson Jr.
He is survived by his wife of over fifty years Janice M. Culberson of Hattiesburg, MS. Son and daughter-in-law; John and Gwin Culberson of Cartersville, GA, daughters and sons-in-law; Pam and Paul Crane of Pineville, LA, and Sarah and Paul Williams of Petal, MS. Sister; Ann Wade Chance of Rome, GA. Grandchildren; Sarah "Nattie" Williams, and Jason Williams both of Petal, MS, and Steven L. Ferrell of Pineville, LA
Funeral services will be conducted Monday July 14, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. from the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with the Reverend William Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 8:30 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
