James Davis

Mr. James Russell Davis, 70, of Rydal, died on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Cartersville Medical Center.
He was born in Fulton County on August 21, 1947 to the late L.A. Davis and Sammie Herron Davis.
James was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Hormel Foods and retired with 38 years of service. James loved his wife and family. He was an avid T.V. buff and enjoyed watching MASH and Westerns. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ansley Fowler; a brother, Doug Davis; and a nephew, Matt Davis.
Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Elaine Gentry Davis of Rydal; his children, Sean Davis of Monroe, Russ Davis of Snellville, Alex Davis (Christy) of Winder, Tracy Fowler (Mike) and Tiffany Brown (Roger) all of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Nicole Brown, Katlin Hufstetler, Krista Brown Jessica Maybern, Heather Brown, Andrea Brown, Presley Davis, Trey Walters, Owen Davis and Carter Davis; his sister, Gail Green (Grady); his sister-in-law, Marie Davis; along with 4 great-grandchildren.
An inurnment service will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery with military honors.
