James Dutton

Mr. James Oliver Dutton, age 73, of 1578C Booze Mountain Road, Silver Creek, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at a local medical center.Mr. Dutton was born in Floyd County, GA on October 10, 1932, the son of the late Floyd Dutton and Emma Shedd Dutton. He was a life long resident of Floyd County and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Dutton enjoyed golf and wood working. He was a cross county truck driver. Mr. Dutton was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jerry Dutton in 1987 and a grandson, David Minter, Jr.Survivors include one son, Michael Jerome Dutton of Dallas, TX; two daughters and sons in-law, Trena and Ray Thomason of Rome and Kayla and Jeremy Crabtree of Rome; one brother, Alford Dutton of Waycross, GA; five grandchildren, Steven Smith, Bradley Thomason, Shayla Minter and Chris Minter all of Rome and William Padgett of Kentucky; special friends, Catherine Milam, Tina Lumpkin, Angela Shaver and Nathan Milam, Jr.The family will receive friends at the Heritage Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home tonight (Thursday) from 7:00 until 9:00 pm.Graveside and interment services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Hope Cemetery with Rev. Joel Smith officiating.
