James Hightower

James Kenneth Hightower, 80 of Cartersville, Georgia, went home on February 8, 2024 at his residence with his family by his side.  He was born in Cartersville, Georgia on April 6, 1943 to Johnson Hightower and Annie Floyd Hightower.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

James loved Jesus with his whole heart.  He was a wonderful husband for 62 years, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He loved and adored his family with a passion.  He enjoyed fishing, music, and riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his loving wife, Jean Hightower; children, Anthony (Lynn) Hightower and Greg (Kathy) Hightower; grandchildren, Candis (Brandon) Roberson, Carla (Justin) Hall, Jessica (Ryan) Tomlinson, Melinda (Deric) Diaz and Josiah (Kelsie) Hightower; great grandchildren, Elijah Tomlinson, Isaiah Tomlinson, Caydence Roberson, Wyatt Roberson, Jeremiah Hightower, and Kaisley Hightower; and brothers and sisters, Markeeta, Carole, Cozette, Anne, Ronnie, Sue, David, Cindy, Lisa and Sherrie.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2024 in the funeral home's chapel with Reverend Chester Brown Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chad West, Josiah Hightower, Elijah Tomlinson, Isaiah Tomlinson, Ryan Tomlinson, Brandon Roberson, Justin Hall, and Deric Diaz.
