James "Jim" Howell

James "Jim" Howell, 86 of Kingston, Georgia, was called home on October 31, 2023.

He was born on June 6, 1937, in Cartersville, Georgia to Harris Howell and Sue Knight Howell. He is preceded in death by his father, Harris Howell; mother, Sue Knight Howell; sister, Libby King (Melvin); brother, Bobby Howell; sisters-in-law, Donna Adams, Fannie Miller, and Mary Lou Cantrell; brother-in-law, James Keever; and mother-in-law, Eliza Keever.

He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Howell; children, Brian Howell and Brenda Glass; grandchildren, Cheryl Middleton (Derrick) and Megan Clayton (Winston); great grandchildren, Chase Ruff, Cadence Ruff, Brody Glass, Brentley Glass, and Brylee Glass; sister, Katie Fields (Bud); and sisters-in-law, Emma Howell and Lou Ferguson.

James was a born-again Christian his entire life; he was a genuine and good man no matter the occasion.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 3, 2023, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Kenny Jacobs and Reverend Scott Shepherd officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Worthington, Jeff Ferguson, John McMichen, Greg Fain, Joey Chastain, and Vince Cokrlic. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Adams, Bud Fields, Wendell Ferguson, and Earl Cantrell.
