Mr. James Charlie "JC" Jones, 89, of Rydal, died Thursday, August 21, 2014 at his residence.
Born June 12, 1925 in the Dewey Community of Bartow County, he was a son of the late John Jefferson Jones and the late Lillie Mae Bryson Jones. Mr. Jones was a member of Free Home Community Church, where he served as an usher. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army and the Air Force Reserve, and was retired from Bowman Transportation after 35 years. JC loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; he liked gardening and vacationing at the beach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Jones; and a step-daughter, Donna Heath.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Dobbins Jones; daughters, Teresa Selman of Hiram, Diane King and James of Cartersville, and Brittany Jones of Cumming; step-children, Angelina Morast and Bobby of White, Kristi Owen of Oklahoma City, OK, and Cecil Bishop of Cartersville; brothers, Herman Jones of Cartersville, Roy "Amos" Jones of Calhoun, Andy Jones of Adairsville, John Jones, Jr., also of Adairsville, and Thomas Jones of Dalton; grandchildren, Angela Bannister and Jeff, Trudy Amos, Justin Sumner and Joanna, Jessica Heath and AJ, Tiffani Taff and Daniel, Denise Bagley, Logan Bagley, Angela Owen, Dawson Bishop, Carri King and Kody, Donna King, Dakota King, Bella King, and Bryson Messick; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Free Home Community Church on Crystal Springs Lane in Canton, with The Reverend Danny May and The Reverend Marvin Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Log United Methodist Church Cemetery in Rydal. The family will receive friend on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 5 until 8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Bobby Morast, Elwin Vaughn, Wayne Rogers, Matthew Jones, Mark Jones, and Johnny Leachman.
