James Mcintyre

August 20, 1924 — March 28, 2010

James Virgil �Mac� McIntyre, 85, of Cartersville passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born August 20, 1924 in Bartow County, he was the son of the late Jerry Lamar McIntyre, Sr. and the late Emmie Lorene Shelley McIntyre. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Stanford McIntyre and Jerry McIntyre, Jr.



Mac was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and served in WW II in the Pacific Theatre. He retired as the plant superintendent at Chemical Products in 1986 after thirty-five years of employment. Mac enjoyed fishing and was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church.



Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Pauline Hubbard McIntyre; his son, James Wayne McIntyre and his wife, Doris; his daughters, Shirley Ann Lee and her husband, Doyle, and Paulette Ford and her husband, Ken; his sister, Maybelle Stewart; his grandchildren, Tina Litton, Stephen Abernathy, Phillip and Crystal Abernathy, Dusty Swift, Dale and Angi Robinson, and Zach and Allie Ford; his great-grandchildren, Adam and Renee Litton, Andrew Litton, Benjamin Abernathy, Weston Robinson, and Wade and Allison Robinson; his great-great-grandson, Drake Litton; his sister-in-law, Nell McIntyre; and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Greg Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by American Legion Carl Boyd Post #42.



Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Litton, Andre Litton, Phillip Abernathy, Stephen Abernathy, Zach Ford, and Michael King. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Billy Cline. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 9 p.m. on Monday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
