Mr. James W. "Jim" Morris, 66, of Pembroke Pines, FL passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008.
Mr. Morris was born in Etowah County, AL on Oct. 10, 1941, son of Mary Jim Kennedy Morris and the late James Roy Morris. He was a graduate of Darlington Preparatory High School in Rome, GA and Auburn University, and he received his graduate degree from the University of Alabama. He worked in the field of international education for more than 30 years and retired in 2007 as Executive Director of the Association of American Schools in South America. Mr. Morris was an avid golfer, a fervent fan of Auburn football and Braves baseball, and he was also a member of St. Luke Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father James Roy Morris.
He is survived by his son, James W. (Patricia) Morris, Jr., Northport, NY; daughter, Cristina Morris, Boca Raton, FL; grandchildren, Catherine Morris, Jimmy Morris, and Kelly Morris, all of Northport, NY; mother, Mary Jim Morris, Rome, GA; best friend, Michele Morris, Boca Raton, FL.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 11, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Heritage Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Fuller officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Heyman HospiceCare at Floyd Medical Center, P. O. Box 162, Rome, GA 30162.
The Heritage Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for James W. Morris.
