James "Bud" Potts

October 28, 1943 — March 28, 2025

James Edward Potts Jr., 81 of Kingston, Georgia, passed away March 28, 2025. He was born in Kingston, Georgia to the late James Edward Potts, Sr. and Essie Dover. James is also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Sparks; brother, John Potts; sisters, Evelyn Culver, Sissy Blumenfield and Sybil Croy.

He is survived by his daughters; Renee McFarland (Michael), Rhonda Potts; grandchild, Heather Walker (Anthony); great-grandchildren, Aubrey Telliard, and Brooks Walker; sister, Virginia Hatten; several nieces and nephews.

James loved to work outside. He enjoyed spending his time watching baseball, football and Nascar.

The family will be having a visitation on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025, in the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Scott Hatten officiating. Burial will follow at Kingston Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Walker, Brooks Walker, James Croy, Ronnie Culver and Mike McFarland.
