Mr. James A. Presley age 75, of Rome, GA died Monday, June 28, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Presley was born in Rome, GA on June 3, 1935, the son of the late James Milton Presley and Lois Edna Smith. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Presley retired from Inland Container after thirty-seven years of service and worked at Suhner Manufacturing after ten years of service. In addition to his parents Mr. Presley was preceded in death by two brothers, Millard Presley and Richard Presley and a nephew, Dennis Presley.
Survivors include his beloved wife of fifty-four years, Patricia �Patsy� Kilgo Presley; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeffery Lynn Presley of Cobb County, GA and Joseph Scott and Lisa Marie Presley of Armuchee, GA; grandchildren, Katie Presley, Jeremey Presley, MayKayla Presley, Aaron Presley, Alyssa Presley, Emily Presley, Matt Palopoli, Kris Palopoli, and Andrea Palopoli; and an aunt, Frances Hall of Rome.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Oaknoll Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Prater officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Georgia National Honor Guard conducting military graveside rites.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel.
The following gentlemen will service as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Oaknoll Chapel by 1:30 P.M.: Kris Palopoli, Matt Palopoli, Matt Helbing, Tony Walker, Jeremy Presley, and Luke Andrews.
