Born on March 3rd, 1944, Marvin lived his entire life at Valley View Farm in Euharlee, GA. He touched countless lives with his kindness and earned great respect as a devoted family man and a proud veteran.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Frankie Shepherd, and his son, James Shepherd, along with his daughter-in-law Melissa. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Randy Shepherd (Jessica), Donald Shepherd (Hailey), Bridgett Tucker (Josh), Hunter Shepherd, Lucas Shepherd, Cole Barkley (Sheridyn), and Jordan Cook (Danielle). He was also the proud great-grandfather to 13 great-grandchildren.

Marvin was a stepfather to Rita Cole and Rana Keel, and leaves behind his brother, Lee Roy Shepherd, and sister-in-law Jan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Fannie Shepherd, and his son, Donald Shepherd.

As a young man, Marvin served proudly in the Army, enlisting to serve his country during the Vietnam War. Upon returning to civilian life, he dedicated many years to his career as a Machine Adjuster at Union Carbide (later Clorox) and caregiver of Valley View Farm until his retirement.

Marvin will be remembered not only for his dedication to his family and country but also for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith, being a member of Floyd Creek Baptist Church.

A visitation to honor Marvin's life will take place on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Floyd Creek Baptist Church in Taylorsville, GA. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 2:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Ty Pope. Burial will follow at the church's cemetery.
