James Albert Smith, 81, of Hardin Bridge Road, Kingston, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Cartersville Medical Center.
Born on November 3, 1938, in Bartow County he was the son of the late W.O. Smith and the late Ora Smith. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Smith.
James was employed by Nelson Appliance as a mechanic until his retirement. He was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Chitwood Smith; his children, Diane Green, Elizabeth Tant (Dennis), and Johnny Smith; his grandchildren, Christy Cornett, Josh Green, Kimberly Green, and Brittany Green; his great-grandchildren, Josh Cornett, Kaylyn Cornett, Elijah Cornett, Daytona Williams, and Jolene Smith; his brother, John Smith (Carol); and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Adrian Craig officiating. The family will have a private visitation from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Serving as pallbearers will be Darrell Green, Dennis Tant, Josh Green, Mark Cornett, Franklin Akin, and Cecil Ford.
