Janet Carol (Evans) Black, 70, passed away at her home, July 20, 2021, with her girls by her side.
A lifelong Bartow County resident, she was born April 12, 1951, to the late Edward C. and Rena Louise Evans. Janet was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberly Denise Black, sister Barbara (Evans) Robson, niece Amanda (Evans) Griffith, her parents, & many other loved ones.
She is survived by her eldest daughter, Stephanie (Black) & Kevin Dempsey, & youngest daughter Melanie Black. Grandchildren Dustin (& Lyn) Wilson, Brittany Dempsey, and Asa Dempsey. The great-grandchildren Devon, Kaitlyn, & Luna. Siblings Allen (& Linda) Evans, Dale (& Henry) Godfrey, Gale (& Terry) Thomas. Also, numerous nieces, nephews, greats, & cousins.
Janet loved spending time with her family & friends. She loved gardening, & roses were her favorite. She had the talent to nurture life back into what most would have given up on. She was deep seeded in her faith in God & known for her kind smiles & spirited laughter. Janet started work early in life, as was common for her generation, working the snack bar at her family's auction Cloverleaf City. She was retired from Union Carbide/Glad Corporation.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Parnick Jennings Funeral Home & Cremation Services at 430 Cassville Rd. Cartersville, GA 30120. Visitation will be at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Friday, July 23, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with the funeral service following in their chapel at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will be private at Sunset Memory Gardens where she will be laid to rest next to her daughter & parents. There will not be a graveside service as her girls have decided they need this time for themselves to say goodbye to their mother. Stephanie & Melanie have had a long hard journey caring for their mother as she battled this horrible disease, Alzheimer's/ Dementia that claimed her life long before she was gone. Her daughters know that family & friends will be understanding, respectful, & supportive.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you instead give flowers to the living to spread the seeds of love.
