Janet Nelson

Ms. Janet J. Nelson of 122 Hycliff Road, Rome passed away on Monday, November 7, 2005 at her residence.Mrs. Nelson was born in Glasgow, Scotland on July 26, 1935, the daughter of the late William Edward Speirs and Elizabeth Reid Speirs. She had been a resident of Floyd County for 50 years and was of the catholic faith. Mrs. Nelson loved to travel, visiting family in Scotland and New Zealand, loved music, dancing and loved life. Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Robert Don Nelson in November 1995.Survivors include three sons and daughter in-law, Michael Scott Nelson, Atlanta, William Robert and Lisa Nelson, Randleman, N.C. and Robert Nelson, Jr., Atlanta; one daughter and son in-law, Lizette and Ronnie Bagwell, Rome; one grandson, Ryan Bagwell, Rome; one brother, William Angus Reid Speirs, Christchurch, New Zealand; one sister, Catherine Dean, Nelson, New Zealand.A memorial service will be held at 7:30 pm on Thursday at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Nelson officiating.
