Janette Mundy

Juanita Janette Mundy, 85 of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away on March 9, 2024 at her residence.  She was born on May 6, 1938 in Cartersville Georgia to the late Herman Simpson and the late Margaret Fowler Simpson.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Terry Mundy Sr.; daughter Judy Johnson; grandson Drew Hammonds; and brothers, Wayne Simpson and Ronnie Simpson.

Janette loved to garden.  She had a green thumb and loved to nurture her plants and watch them grow.  She could grow huge flower and vegetable gardens; she grew the biggest sunflowers and would often eat hot peppers right out of her garden.  In addition to being outdoors, she adored her Atlanta Braves.

She is survived by her children, Johnny Jenkins, Terry Mundy Jr., Deborrah Crowe and Sheila Lanier; grandchild Amanda Jenkins; great grandson Josh Jenkins; siblings Joyce Duck, Brenda Melton, and Linda McFarland; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Willard officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm on Wednesday prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Melton, Michael McFarland, Chad Cox, Tony Helton, Josh Gentry, and Johnny Ray.
